The Summer Season Company
A professional company of over 50 actors, directors, designers, and technicians is assembled for the summer season. In addition, the Festival has a professional internship program which offers actors, directors, designers, and technicians the opportunity to make the transition from their training programs to the professional theatre world. There is also a High School Apprenticeship Program which gives students the opportunity to apprentice in either acting or technical theatre. Additionally, the Festival brings in nationally recognized shadow signers for special performances (see Special Needs Accessibility).

The Educational Outreach Company
Each year, Kentucky Shakespeare Festival brings in actors for the educational outreach tour which travels throughout the state and beyond, bringing Shakespeare to over 30,000 students. A team of two actors will perform anywhere from 400 to 500 interactive performance workshops in a nine month period. Talk about commitment! A second team joins the staff for March, April and May performances, in order to accommodate a highly–booked schedule.
