MACBETH Something wicked this way came
Tim Gregory (center) as MacBeth; Mollie Milligan (left) and Todd Espeland (right) as guards. 1998 marked the first summer tour in the Festivals 38-year history. Kentucky Shakespeare Festival took Macbeth on tour to The Louisville Zoo and The Clifton Center, in addition to spending three weeks at home in historic Old Louisville's Central Park. Over 9,500 people gathered to see the dark tale of a man whose decision to murder his King unleashes the forces of darkness. In fact, those who attended the performances at The Clifton Center should be proud to know they attended the firstever indoor summer season production by the Festival. In addition, the Festival toured Shakespeare UnPlugged A Concert Reading Series to local bookstores around Louisville for a second year. Bardlovers from throughout the city had the opportunity to hear the play the way the Elizabethans would have. Participants enjoyed the intimate setting and chance to talk to the actors after the performance. A wonderful compliment to the live production, the Shakespeare UnPlugged Series will be back next year no doubt! Kentucky Shakespeare Festival would like to thank its corporate sponsors for their part in a great summer!
